I will be publishing information and current projects as they develop.
During the COVID 'lockdown', I began a new writing project which is on-going. I know I am not the only person to have done this, and like others, there is an autobiographical dimension to my work, but it is also, in some measure, a continuation of my interest in spirituality and my attempts to come to some clearer understanding of what might count as spiritual experience. Much influenced by the writings of Martin Buber (especially his little book Meetings), this project incorporates anecdotes from my own experiences, together with reflections on them and on similar accounts of family, friends and published authors.
Untrammelled by the pressures of University and Government requirements for a record of peer-reviewed publications, or the sometimes suffocating conventions of academic writing, this has allowed me to be more creative and less-formulaic in what I write. Moreover, it is written for me, and not for a specific scholarly or professional audience. I don't expect it ever to be published, and some of it is very personal. However, I may be willing to share some extracts with anyone who shows an interest in this type of writing, or wants to explore the spiritual angle.
